IIST celebrated the 134th birth anniversary of Dr Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution and a tireless advocate for equality, justice, and human dignity, with great enthusiasm and reverence on April 11th, 2025, in anticipation of the official holiday on April 14th.

IIST and SPIC MACAY jointly hosted a mesmerizing Qawwali Programme by Warsi Brothers in IIST campus on 6th November 2024, offering students, faculty, and guests an evening of transcendent music, soulful poetry, and spiritual reflection.

IIST Library has organised an exclusive book exhibition - "The Gift of Wisdom" - on 16.12.2024, showcasing books donated by Dr B. N. Suresh, Honourable Chancellor, IIST. Shri. A. S. The annual sports meet for the academic year 2024-25 was conducted on 31 January 2025. The students participated in various sports events under the flags of five houses, namely; Akashganga, Devyani, Kritika, Saptarshi and Sharmista. The Art Gallery and Space Museum in the Interdisciplinary Block was inaugurated on 11th February 2025, by Prof. Dipankar Banerjee (Director,IIST), facilitated by Prof Kuruvilla Joseph (Registrar, IIST), the CMD, and the Humanities and Social Sciences Department . In the Space musuem there are 23 miniature space craft exhibits ranging from Aryabhata to Crew Module.
