The lab currenty houses the IIST shock tube. It has a modular construction with eight 1.6m long segments. The shock tube has an inner dia of 60mm and a rated operaitn pressure of 150bar. Due to its modular design it can be operated in the shock tube mode, shock tunnel mode and Ludwieg tunnel mode

The shock tube has been instrumented with transient-pressure sensors, high speed data acquisition system and a high speed schlieren flow visualisation set-up
